The Perfect Wedding - Finishing Touches.
Every bride and groom have an idea about their wedding, the atmosphere they want to create and what will make the day perfect in every way. The major things about the wedding are planned and purchased several months and sometimes years in advance. The church, venue and caterers are booked, the wedding dress and suits have been measured for and ordered. Now there are just a few smaller details to attend to and the day will be just as you always imagined.
Once the major elements of the day have been arranged, it is only the final finishing touches that are required to make sure the day is specially and uniquely yours and perfect. Decorating the venue for the wedding breakfast allows the bride to stamp her own individuality on proceedings. There are many ideas of wedding favours that can be placed on the tables for the guests, as a token of the day.
Wedding favours themselves originate from Europe and traditionally contain five sugared almonds to represent fertility, longevity, wealth, health and happiness. Sugared almonds were chosen because they are bittersweet, much like married life. Of course sugar also used to be a very expensive commodity so this kind of confectionary was a real extravagance.
Today, of course, wedding favours can come in all shapes and sizes. You don’t even have to restrict yourselves to a boxed gift, choose a favour that compliments the theme of your wedding and if there are going to be younger children present then you can get some wonderful child friendly wedding favours to keep them entertained as well.
The use of wedding guest books to collect the thoughts and feelings of the guests who shared your wedding day is another way to create a keepsake that you can look back on and treasure for many years to come. Choose something that will reflect his interests and taste and you can’t go far wrong. If you have it engraved with a message of your appreciation it will become a long lasting memento of your friendship.
Weddings are special days, there’s no doubt about it, but it isn’t the dress or the cake or the rings that makes them so. Weddings are about celebrating your love and commitment in the presence of those you hold dearest so show them how important they are to your day with gifts and favours that will create a lasting impression.
