Be really specific about the circumstances and when you actually praise your daughter, make sure that you are really meaning what you are saying.
In this situation, it is important to never actually try and fake what you are saying because chances are that you will come across as insincere and you will surely be found out. Also make sure that you actually believe in what you are saying.

“So when Rachel started to mention Nick on a more frequent basis, we knew that we had competition for Rachel’s heart. And when Nick contacted me telling me that he planned to propose to my daughter I gave him my blessings. We will continue to pray for Rachel and Nick, and support both of them in whatever they need.
